Who We’ve Helped

Meet 13 year old Sanders!

We were able help to this sweet boy cross over the bridge and move on to his next great voyage, where he can run pain free and chase lots of chickens! A champion for sure! His mom and all who knew and loved Sanders are heart broken. He was the best boy ever. I think he had his wings from the get go. You will be missed Sanders…We love you!

His mom says:

“Sanders is my soul dog and I love him dearly. He's the most handsome, smart and funny guy, and he's the current love and forever of my life! The pic I'm attaching is from his ball playing years. He's a known athlete, chicken killer and has received numerous compliments throughout his life for how good looking he is. A stunner and known as BBB (big blond boyfriend).”

In Loving Memory of Sanders.

Meet 10 year old Nelly!

We were able to help this sweet senior with some fractured teeth and she feels so much better! We love you Nelly!

Nelly’s mom writes:
“It’s hard to put what Nelly and I have into words. She is my heart and soul. We have been together since she was 6 months old. I have always tried to be the best dog mom I can be, and provide her with everything she needs to live life to fullest free from pain or hardship. Nelly has been with me through thick and thin, she is the sweetest girl I could I ever ask for, and the best friend I could ever ask to share this life with. We do everything together and I just want to continue doing everything I can to provide what she needs. Sometimes we have to ask for help though, and I cannot express my gratitude for the consideration of our case, to help with Nelly’s dental procedure. I will do everything in my power to provide what she needs, any help would be so appreciated. She loves to swim! She’s just my happy smart wonderful girl. She also loves to paddleboard with me, she’s the captain of course. We love our walks and our lighter hikes now that we are both getting older and feeling it! Anyways, that’s some tid bits about us. We are so so grateful for your consideration. I love her with all my heart, and I am grateful I get the love of such an amazing dog and to share my life with her.”

Meet 10 year old Koda!

We were able to help this darling senior boy, who was unfortunately hit by a car at the end of April, 2021.

With the help of a grant from Soccer Pants Senior Paws, Koda will be able to make a full recovery! This sweet boy is a Veteran and was a bomb sniffer in the war...his dad rescued him and has had him for 5 years! We love you Koda!

Meet 10 1/2 year old Malo!

Malo’s vet initially thought he had an infection, but unfortunately, he ended up having cancer. This sweet boy didn't make it, but we were able to help where we could to ease at least a bit of the financial burden. We love you Malo and big hugs to Malo's dad.

His dad says: “I've had Malo since he was about three weeks old. He is my buddy, my companion, my dog son. I've never met anyone that didn't fall in love with him right away. He is still a puppy at heart with tons of playful energy and even though he's older now, he still thinks he's a tiny puppy that can squeeze into anyone's lap. He is kind and loving and cuddly, and always is glued to my side whenever we are around each other. I love him with all my heart and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to keep him alive, happy and healthy for as long as possible. I'm applying for this fund because I don't know what further costs lie ahead in his current condition, but I've definitely come to a point where I'm beginning to worry about any further costs.”

In Loving Memory of Malo.

Meet 9 year old Charlie!

We were able to help with diagnostics and ease the financial burden, when next steps were being considered. We love you Charlie and the biggest of hugs to her mom, dad and baby brother!

Her mom says:
”I adopted Charlie the week my grandpa Charles died from a long battle with cancer in the summer of 2014. The rescue, New Hope Cattle Dog Rescue, told me she was found in a trailer park in Kansas City MO with puppies - all her puppies had been adopted out and she was on the list to be euthanized. NHCDR stepped in and got her to Denver CO on July 9th, and I adopted her on August 1st 2014.

From then on, Charlie has been my constant companion. She has been hiking, camping, snow shoeing, road trippin, flying in airplanes (in the cabin, of course!), and honestly has saved my life. She took an immediate liking to my cat PingPong and they have been buddies ever since. When my now-husband and I got together 5 years ago, she loved him right away. I can honestly say, she loves everyone right away. She is just as much his dog as she is mine. And now we have a new baby. This cancerous tumor was found a week after our son was born and we took many hour long trips to and from the emergency vet our good friend recommended. Unfortunately, they gave us advice to let her pass on instead of getting invasive surgery. We got a second opinion recently and found out she can be saved with a partial mandiblectomy.

Unfortunately, this is a very costly procedure. After just having a child, we did not build this into our budget - we are both in mental health and work in non-profit so our paychecks aren't really abundant. We are also facing $2000 per month childcare bills soon and having problems saving up for that.

I would literally rob a bank to get Charlie her surgery. Luckily we have wonderful friends that are helping us through this.”

In Loving Memory of Charlie.

Meet 12 year old Harpo!

We were able to help this darling senior kitty with an abdominal procedure and he is now thriving! We love you Harpo!

Harpo’s mom writes:
“When I was in elementary school, we found Harpo in a tractor wheel in Wisconsin with his sister, Ethel, and took both of them home. Harpo has always been adorable, and a prankster to his sister! He loves his chew toys and loves to sleep on top of the freezer or watch my partner and I cook. He has his own heat pad, which he demands we turn on every morning once we wake up. He and his sister are both ESAs as well. I had quite neglectful parents and got my first job at 13 to pay for Harpo and Ethel's vet care. He's one of my best friends and he deserves so much happiness, and I don't want finances to harm him. We were able to get out of that abusive situation together, and using CareCredit I have been able to adequately pay vet bills and pay-off the card, but this unexpected several thousand dollars in costs are about to hit my credit limit. I immediately made him a gofundme, but it has not raised much money. I just want to make sure my best friend gets a fighting chance.”

Meet 7 year old Ruby!

We were able to help this sweet 7 year old German Shepard girl with a mass excision on her jaw, that may have been life saving! Ruby is doing great and her dad couldn't be happier. We love you Ruby!

Her dad says:

“My best friend Ruby is my EVERYTHING. She is a registered emotional support dog that I rescued 5 yrs ago after she had lost her right rear leg in a bear trap.
She was seen by Dr. Lisa Thomson @‌pet cross and diagnosed a tumor on the right side of her face that needed to be surgically removed soon.
It is growing fast. I have tried ALL the home remedies I've been able to find: fish oil, apple cider vinegar, Castrol oil, L- carnitine, even potatoes and it has helped a little.
I can't afford the entire cost of the surgery, so I'm reaching out for any help I can get please. THANK YOU!”

Meet 11 year old Piper!

We were able to help this sweet senior doggo with some fractured teeth and an abscess! We love you Piper and are so glad you're feeling better!

Piper's mom says:
”I have had Piper since she was three months old. I had always wanted an Australian Cattledog since I was a young child and found the breed in an Encyclopedia of dogs at the local library. When I found her, I rushed to upstate New York from my home in Vermont to bring her home. She has been the most well behaved, obedient and delightful best friend for over 11 years now. She is getting older but still has plenty of spunk left; always wanting to visit friends, go for walks and play with her ball. Other than having TPLO surgery about two years ago she has been remarkably healthy throughout her life. Now it seems that her age is catching up to her. She was diagnosed with early kidney disease and hypothyroidism last fall. I have been able to afford her ongoing treatment for both those conditions but she has also been to the veterinary ER three times in the past three months. Twice for persistent urinary tract infections (which have since cleared up) and once for her current condition, an abscessed tooth. These ER visits have greatly depleted my finances which (in addition to my own recent dental surgeries) is why I am seeking this grant.”

Meet Maia!

We were able to help this sweet senior girl with an oral biopsy, emergency dental and multiple extractions and she is doing great! Her biopsy was benign! We love you Maia!

Her dad says:
”Her name is Maia & She is my EVERYTHING! She was trained at 3 months for early biochemical response warning & has saved my life on 3 accounts if not more. I owe her everything & in her time of need I'm suffering job loss & extreme hardships myself with health & major dental issues. It's honestly terrible & I'm scared I'll be homeless soon & I need to get this growth that showed up in her mouth removed asap.
It's hurting me too deeply.
My vet is amazing & she recommended Maia & I ask you for help.
Maia is the sweetest dog I've ever known & amazingly loyal.
She loves people & children with no reserves.
She was a volunteer pet guest at the children's hospital in Charleston, SC when she was a puppy.
She taught me things I didn't know were possible.
She's showed me a side of love I've never known even from humans.
She's there for me every single time I've needed her.
She spends all of her free time playing ball. Her favorite toy is the chuckit glow in the dark green balls. She had one for 6 years once & she holds on to her ball & could pick hers out of a hundred. She's loyal & picky.
She doesn't accept treats form others without asking my permission something she was never trained. She actually knows left from right & her intelligence is amazing.
Truly a light of love in this world.
She cannot play ball anymore because of this growth in her mouth so I carry it for her & we go chase it spot to spot.
Please help this beautiful wonderful amazing spirit on this earth in her time of need from humanity. Please.”

Meet Blade!

We were able to help this handsome senior guy with a splenectomy and gastroplexy, for a softball sized sarcoma! HIs biopsy cam back negative! He's feeling so much better, and so is his momma! We love you Blade!

Blade's mom writes:
”I got Blade from the humane society in Lawrence, Kansas when I was in college studying design. My dad passed away when I was young and his dog Buddy had passed away the year I got Blade due to old age. It tore me up, I looked for about a year and finally met Blade.

When he was younger he would steal pizza right out of my hands and when he was a pup, he'd like to steal bananas and nuts.

For the majority of our lives, we lived next to a lake where Blade would go swimming any chance he could get.

Since moving here, it's been pretty tough for the both of us, the expenses add up really quick. And it's hard not being so close with family but we take advantage of the mountain air and the state parks to go swimming and hiking any chance we get.

It's been truly incredible to see how both of us have grown up together and can't even begin to imagine that stopping now. We've been inseparable together and I can't even try to tell you how much Blade means to me. It's hard for me to write this and ask for help but truly appreciate any support.”
